OMG WTFBBQ. That is usually the first reaction people tend to get when you say: YOUR POKEMON IS INFECTED WITH POKERUS!!!!!!!!

Usually, you get such a fired reaction because no-one understands THE HECK your saying. Well, Ima gonna explain WHAT THE HECK this thingy is, So when Nurse Joy tells you YOUR pokemon is infected with Pokerus, please, PLEASE, dont scream OMGWTFBBQ out loud.

Okay, lets get Crackin. Pokerus. Pokerus is an infection. When people hear the word Infection the first word some people is get: WHO DIED?

Get back to realiteh. No one died. Pokerus isnt even a BAD infection. In fact, its quite benefitcial. =O

Pokerus... its pretty rare desease; infection; boo-boo. Its dependant on luck. You have to fight a pokemon infected with Pokerus inorder to get it first; and there is NO TELLING if that pokemon even has it.

SO IS IT DEPENDANT ON LUCK? Yes. Very. Indeedy.

So how do you know if you have pokerus? Simple. First time you go the the pokemon center with the Pokerus on one of your pokemon, Nurse joy will start blabbering, saying this.

"Your POKEMON may be infected with POKERUS. Little is known about the POKERUS except that they are miscroscopic Life-forms that attach to POKEMON. While infected, POKEMON are said to grow exceptionally well."

Soulds good eh? It gets better. The Pokerus will spread to all the pokemon in your party after a little while, and when you advance your pokemon to the next level, you will notice that your stat growth rate has increased. Its pretty useful to have.

Another way to see if your pokemon is infected with Pokerus, is to check thier Status section in R/S/E. if there is a purplish sign with leters PKRS, you know your pokemon is infected. In DP, you will notice a little happy face, indicating that your pokemon has Pokerus.

But all good things must come to an end. Your infected pokemon will lose the Pokerus eventually, ending the awsum stat boost it had to offer. It usually loses it after 24 hours of being exposed.

YOU CAN TELL IF YOUR POKEMON HAD POKERUS BECAUSE THERE WILL BE A BLACK DOT ON THE BOTTOM RIGHT CORNER OF YOUR ID/NAME SQUARE IN STATS.

So if you want to keep your Pokerus, after training it send it DIRECTLY back into the box. The Pokerus will stay on forever if you leave your pokemon there forever.

IN D/P, Pokerus still lives. And it is still introduced in the same fashion. If you want to spare the time of looking for it, spread the Pokerus in your R/S/E to a 'useless' pokemon, transfer it over to Diamond and Pearl, then spread it around!
